Lisa Auer
Lisa currently shares her time between working as a mountain guide and as a 'word and web smith' as she likes to call herself. Based in Chamonix France, her mountain job involves guiding and instruction on rock and ice, climbing, skiing and mountaineering.
Her lifestyle involves a lot of travel which, in the last few years has encompassed Wanaka, New Zealand (where she trained to become a mountain guide), Elbrus, Russia, Bohslan, Sweden, New York, U.S., Cinque Terre, Italy, Lyngen, Norway and her hometown Melbourne, Australia.
Based on her work, travels and recreation she has been writing feature stories largely for adventure magazines in Australia, UK, New Zealand and beyond for more than a decade. Her other passions include surfing, photography, gardening and website design – she has recently designed and coded the website for her new company Chamonix Mountain Guides and the related CMGBlog.
Lisa has a BA in Interior Design (1994) and has recently commenced online a Masters in Writing though, she says, "At the current rate of one subject a year, it will take me 11 years to finish!"
In addition to her studies Lisa is in the process of completing an anthology of stories and reflections on her adventures of the last decade for which she is seeking a publisher.
